I’m Dea and I’m the owner and interviewer at Bijou You Films. (And pictured with my inspiration for this creative work… my daughters.)
We all have a story. And these family stories are so often lost or forgotten simply for lack of intention. Bijou You was born our of a hope that we remember and share and cherish the stories that have built our families. When my extended crew gets together, we share plenty of sweet tea-spewing, eye-rolling laughter over the best stories from our journeys. These personal stories inspire me every day in the making of personal films for other families.
One of my greatest concerns with marketing personal family films was the stigma of finality that “legacy films” can bring. We don’t use that phrasing here although it’s commonly used in the creative industry. Our hope is not an ending whatsoever, rather, a keepsake. Think… bookmark in your continuing story.
It’s a joy joy joy to capture stories to date, so to speak! Our lives go on in many directions post filming, so all the more reason to invite us back for a second episode in your series. Had to put in a plug!
Your story… so far. That’s so worthy of telling. And no doubt, your story (so far) will bring countless grins and maybe even some tears as you enjoy watching it for years and years to come. Share it. Treasure it. Remember it. And step forward with the delight of knowing it won’t be forgotten. Rather, a source of inspiration for loved ones.
